Zanotta Orione Table

Roberto Barbieri has been a privileged interlocutor for Zanotta for some very important decades, deeply linked to this industrial reality, and for which he has designed with an almost exclusive dedication. Called into the company by Daniele Greppi, who has long been responsible for the product development office (who already knew his ability to design furnishing objects of great balance and measure), Barbieri presents his first trials already in the mid-nineties, and arrives almost immediately to the sculptural beauty of Orione: a table (with a wooden structure, steel rods and glass top) as a cross of subtle signs that are grafted together, something that constructively seems to combine the courageous wisdom of Carlo Mollino and the equally innovative challenge (hidden behind a semblance of normality) shown by Angelo Mangiarotti, in the mid-eighties, in the experiment of a table marked by an intertwining of sticks that chased each other in a game of infinite bounces, as in a line broken.
